Wedding

A popular bridesmaid and maid of honour thank you gift from the bride is a lovely piece of jewellery to wear on her wedding day. This may be a necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings. The design could be symbol of thanks for all they’ve done for the bride or how she feels about them. Or the jewellery could match their bridesmaid outfit for colour and style.

We have a range of different gemstones set in sterling silver that work with a broad colour palette including burgundy, purple, blue, yellow, ivory, turquoise, aquamarine and green. Pieces include birthstone earrings, bracelets and necklaces which are all timeless and easy to wear. As well as adding to the overall look of the wedding, bridesmaid thank you jewellery will become a lifelong treasured memory of the special day.

Fun facts

When it comes to the history of bridesmaids, one of the most well-known stories comes from the story of Jacob in the Bible. His two wives, Leah and Rachel, were escorted to the wedding by their own servants or the brides’ maids. In biblical times, bridesmaids were not necessarily friends or relatives, they were actually domestic workers who catered to the bride’s every need throughout the wedding day.

During the early history of bridesmaids, maids were tasked with not only attending to, but also protecting the bride from evil spirits and bandits. In ancient Rome, it was believed the bad spirts would descend upon weddings so bridesmaids wore similar outfits to the bride to confuse them.
