Birthstone jewellery
From the forest green of the peridot and ice blue of the blue topaz to the warm violet hue of the amethyst and rich red of the ruby, we are continuing to evolve our collection of birthstone jewellery.
January – garnet
The name ‘garnet’ originates from the medieval Latin granatus, which translates as seeds, possibly in association with the pomegranate, because of the resemblance of clusters of small garnets to the red seeds of the fruit. As the birthstone for January, garnet is said to bring love, luck, health, loyalty and friendship to people who are born this month.
February – amethyst
The purple variety of quartz, amethyst is believed to be both healing and calming, promoting balance and peace. Wearing an amethyst can also be a symbol of personal empowerment and inner strength. The amethyst has always been a desirable stone and can be found in the collections of royal families throughout Europe and Asia.
March – aquamarine
The bluey green hues of aquamarine evoke the colour of the sea. In fact, the word ‘aquamarine’ comes from the Latin for seawater and ancient mariners thought the gem would calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea. From the beryl family (same as emerald), it’s attributed with physical, mental and emotional balancing qualities.
June – pearl and moonstone
“The pearl is the queen of gems and the gem of queens” Grace Kelly. Timeless and elegant, pearls have long been associated with purity, humility and innocence, making them the perfect traditional wedding jewellery gift. They also make a fabulous birthday or anniversary jewellery gift.
July- ruby
Ruby is the July birthstone and it’s one of the most coveted of stones. The name is from the Latin word ruber which means ‘red’ – the colour of love and passion.
August – peridot
The vibrant green peridot is among the oldest known gemstones and is the gem variety of the mineral olivine. The word “peridot” is thought to come from the Arabic faridat, meaning gem. Valued in many ancient and medieval cultures, some believe that peridot can bring happiness, luck and prosperity while calming anger, conquering fear and protecting one from evil spirits.
November – citrine
The name citrine comes from the old French word for lemon. Its warm yellow colour is the perfect antidote to a typically chilly autumnal month and jewellery containing citrine is said to radiate positive energy and bring calmness, prosperity and warmth to the wearer – all this makes citrine jewellery a great gift for November birthdays.
December
December – blue topaz
A truly icy blue, this is the perfect colour birthstone for December. In the Middle Ages, Topaz was thought to heal mental illness and physical ailments and it was worn by the Egyptians as a protection amulet. In modern times, having topaz as a birthstone is said to promote health and having a calm mind. It also looks gorgeous set with silver.
December – turquoise
Turquoise is one of the world’s oldest gemstones and has been found buried in Ancient Egyptian tombs that date back to 4,000 B.C. it was thought to be a protective stone, possessing many beneficial powers. Nowadays it remains sought after for its rich, intense colour and, when paired with silver, makes a fabulous jewellery gift!
Wedding anniversary jewellery
2nd – garnet
4th – blue topaz
Blue topaz has historically been associated with love and affection, making it a perfect anniversary gift. A gorgeous icy blue, it looks fabulous set with silver as a silver necklace or pair of earrings.

13th – citrine
The sunny warm yellows of citrine make it one of the most joyful and positive gems. Symbolising passion and romance, a piece of citrine jewellery makes a gorgeous gift for this wedding anniversary.
